Catarina Thoughts:

This book had me from the start. Monica hasn't been in a relationship in a long time and doesn't feel safe because of what happened when she was young, it take her sister Ana to take her out to a club for her to find happiness. In walks Victor everything Monica needs in an a man, but he has a secret. Monica and Victor are ment for each other.

Nightingale writes about reality I couldn't put it down. It make you believe in soulmates. I found myself wondering what Victor's secret was, going through every possible reason why he was keeping Monica at arms length. It showed me pride could destroy your happiness and I want to slap Victor so many times so I could knock some sense into him. Nightingale knows how to suck you in to the this story. You feel the love the pain and every emotion in between.

Synopsis:

Learning to trust again is the hardest thing to do.

Ana Perrot is crazy. Crazy about sex, and pleasing her lovers. She is passionate and as fiery as her red hair. She eats men like air. She is also willing to submit to any man anywhere. But outside of the bedroom, Ana is an independent woman who lives her own life by her own rules. And, her biggest rule . . . she won’t do long term relationships. She refuses to fall in love . . . again.

Teddy O’Rourke is an easy going, laid back Tampa bartender at one of the most popular clubs in town. All about family and enjoying life including all the women that throw themselves at his feet, he has no problems finding willing partners. His football player body, his personality, his warm hazel eyes all ooze sex appeal. He is the perfect package in every way for a woman like Ana, well for any woman really. An ex-cop, his instincts tell him Ana is one hell of a woman, but she is wounded and scarred by the past. What are her secrets? What will make her trust him? Why is she so afraid to love?

A one night stand, that is full of surprises for Teddy, opens his eyes to new possibilities. A single man enjoying his freedom meets his match in the bedroom, and elsewhere. He sees a future with Ana, a counselor for troubled youth. But could she be persuaded to fall . . . and to trust again?

Catarina's Thoughts:

M.J. Nightingale has done it again. Afraid to Love is Ana's story, Ana doesn't do relationships, and runs away when things get to serious. She has secrets and feels no one will want her when they find out about them. So she enjoys having sex with men but won't commit. Teddy is a bartender and has secrets of his own when he and Ana meet they feel connection. You will fall in love with Ana and Teddy and find that you can relate to Ana in a lot of different ways. You will feel her doubts about revealing her secrets and wander what Teddy is hiding it when he reveals how he feels you will stand in his corner and really want Ana to stop running, stop trying to run.

M.J. Nightingale shows us how fragile relationships can be and how hard we will fight to be with the one we love. Her writing shows us that unconditional love does exisist and that we just need too trust our gut instinct and believe we are worthy of happiness. I just loved how this book went though the roller coaster of emotions and how Ana finally excepts herself. You will fall in love with the support characters and encourage them to Help Ana and Teddy. I would give this book 4 stars and I don't think you will be disappointed when you read this.
