Title: The Bare Bones
Author: Layla Wolfe
Genre: Dark Romance
Series: The Bare Bones MC #1
Rating: ★★★★
Synopsis:
The rose-colored illusion of Madison Shellmound’s girlish crush on biker Ford Illuminati is stomped into smithereens by his crude, perverse father Cropper, Bare Bones club President. Fearing Ford will kill Cropper if he finds out, Madison flees town, becoming an upstanding cardiology nurse.
Madison and Ford have an ill-fated, star-crossed love that will last their lifetimes. Ford is a lifer in a different sort of enterprise, the gritty full-throttle club of guns, blood, and allegiance to his brothers.
Twelve years and several tours of SEAL duty later, Ford is thrust back into Madison’s arms on the worst day of his life. Madison’s prospect brother Speed has screwed up big-time and owes the club his life. She offers herself to Cropper as a sacrificial lamb to save Speed.
But how long until the fiery, full-on outlaw Ford discovers that the woman he loves was treated like a degraded slave by his own father? Well, meet the new boss. He’s not the same as the old boss
Donnas Thoughts:
Madison Shellmound did not have a good childhood. She was lucky if she had food to eat, clothes to wear or water to wash in. That is until her mom hooked up with Cropper, president of the Bare Bones MC. When he and his son Ford moved in life got better, well for a while at least.
Ford Illuminati only knows the MC life, he was raised in it. By seventeen he is a fully patched in member and he sports a filthy few patch for killing someone. Ford is handsome and all the ladies like him, he’s also tough so NO ONE messes with him.
Can these two messed up kids be each other’s saving grace? Or will that kind of life be too much for Madison? I recommend you read this book to find out. I happen to LOVE motorcycle club books, honestly how makes a better bad boy book boyfriend then a touch, tattooed motorcycle riding hot guy? This story is written from both characters points of view which is always a plus to me. The story line in this book can be disturbing, but it is necessary. The sex is steamy most of the characters are likable, even lovable and it’s a good mix of romance and nitty gritty club life. I give this book a 4 with 3 hands down the pants.
