Synopsis:

Eighteen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, forty-three weeks, and two days. Or so she thinks.

The boy she maybe-sort-of-definitely loved has dropped off the face of the planet after his girlfriend's death, leaving a Jack-shaped hole. Determined to be happy, Isis fills it in with lies and puts on a brave smile for her new life at Ohio State University.

But how long can that smile last with all of her friends gone?

How long can it last with the guilt of Sophia's death crushing her?

And how long can it really last when Will Cavanaugh attends the same school, taunting her?

Isis is good at pretending everything is okay. But not that good. The cracks begin to show.

Isis Blake is good at putting herself back together.

But Jack Hunter is better.

Sas' Thoughts:

"Other things and other people will make you feel happy. But they wont make you happy. That comes from you. that comes from your own heart. Letting happiness grow in you - that all comes from inside."
Brutal precious picks up about a yr from we last saw Isis and Jack, and so much has changed. for starters both Isis and Jack are both hurting over thing neither of them were able to control.

Jack goes off on his own. And has convinced him self he is not worthy of love. and puts himself in the line of danger just for the hell of it. But when he runs into Isis Blake in the last place he ever expected to see her all those unwanted feelings comes rushing back. But how long can he fight them?
"Do you know how many times you've made me fucking cry?"
I love this series!! I laughed my ass off with Isis' snarky comebacks. an i ooo'd and aaaaaa'd over the romantic scenes.
I am so sad to see this series come to an end,but what a great ending it was. Sara Wolfe is a phenomenal writer. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us!!
"Your the sun... your the most important. You are the only light that's ever truly pierced my armor..."

Donna's Thoughts:

“Because I wanted love when I knew I didn’t deserve it. And now, I’ll never deserve it. I am the evil thing. I am the darkest dragon who ate the saddest princess”

When I first started reading this series, I was horribly disappointed. I had no clue what was going on and thought Isis, the female character was pretty weird. My friend who had already read it told me to just stick with it, and I am SO glad I listened to her. I LOVE this series. The weird girl that I didn’t quite understand has become one of my favorite female characters. She has been through so much, she’s broken. The boy she thought she loved tells her all the time she ugly and unlovable. He tells her she will never find anyone that will want her. Her self-esteem is less than nothing. Despite all of that, she is such a strong person. When most people would have given up and crawled into the deepest hole they could find, Isis survives and continues to survive, even when she doesn’t think she is surviving. She is amazing. I love the way she talks to herself out loud, and the things that come out of her mouth/mind crack me up. I am going to miss Isis Blake. I would love more of this story.

“My ringing phone scares my intestines out of my anus.”
Jack Hunter is a hero. He too is broken, blaming himself for things he had no control over. He is angry and demons haunt his mind and body, but he fights to control them. This story makes me ask can two broken people heal each other? I love Jack Hunter, and I love Sara Wolfe. This story grabbed a hold of me and kept me hanging on every word, every emotion she evokes. I don’t like emotional books; I hate to cry so it’s good that I didn’t. What I did do is truly feel the emotions going on with these characters. For an author to bring me into the story and make me feel as if I am experiencing what is going on right along with the characters as if I am that character is absolutely remarkable. I give this book 5 stars and I say it is a MUST READ!!! Incredible job Ms. Wolfe, absolutely incredible.
