Stalker, My Love
by Zack Scott
Genre: Mystery/Thriller/Romance
Release Date: May 14, 2017
An untraditional love story where fantasy clashes with reality, and happily ever after seems like an elusive dream.
Welcome to Pine Bridge, a small town rife with secrets. Personal is everyone's business and passion is high.
With the disappearance of Rosalyn Ray, tensions soar and fingers point in every direction: the boyfriend, the best friend, the mother and the stalker.
Frustrated by the search going nowhere, Rhett Calloway makes it his mission to discover the truth and find the girl. Some people in Pine Bridge say he's obsessed. Some say he's dangerous. Some say he's hurt Rosalyn. All Rhett knows is he's loved Rosalyn since they were kids and he'll do what it takes to see her again.
Reality? Fantasy? While reading this I often asked myself those questions. In the small town, the players had known each other since school. Rosalyn, daughter of the town bigwigs, abusive, loser boyfriend Earl, her stalker, savior former classmate Rhett, Elliot her deputy girlfriend, and Mimi their slutty third. Oh, there are more and they all play a part. Just don't plan to figure out who you can trust, what their game is and how they figure into Rosalyn's disappearance.
While the town and police department search for the town's missing first daughter, the author directs the reader down dead end corridors, mazes with no centers, and pasts infringing on the present. You won't know who is sane, a little off, or totally gone. Is the stalker, as the title suggests, a good guy or is he the culprit? You will want to keep reading to find out.
While a good read, the story jumped around so much it was sometimes difficult to follow.
