Well, what can I say, this book has left me totally stunned, A Giannoccaro is a brilliant story teller that can bring every emotion you have to the surface. This book is so raw and heartbreaking you will be wanting to scream murder by the end.
Both the main characters Lauri and Rowan are broken and they help each other to heal, they find that they both can love again and what real love is. Rowen has a dark past, is know as a killer but Lauri bring him to the light and teaches him to love, Lauri has suffered at the hands of a monster for 8 years, so when Rowan saves her she is so broken she doesn't know if she can be fixed.
This is not just a love story that brings these two together, this is a story of the underworld where people are killed and no one finds them, a world of corruption and murder.
This story will tug at your heart strings you will be left gasping and holding your breath, hoping these two lover can stay out of sight. Your heart will be ripped out just as you think they will find their ever after.
This book was easy to read, they secondary characters were supportive and rallied around the main characters that they were more like family. This book will haunt you because of the reality of it with these sort of crime family book. It has actually left me numb and heartbroken. I don't often cry over a book but I have with this one.
With all that I have said I did love this book, I would recommend this to anyone who love a raw, gritty dark story. I gave this book 5 stars and I can't wait to see what A Giannoccaro has installed next. This is a fantastic book for this first time author.
