Breaking Spade by Harley Stone with reviews

Title: Breaking Spade
Series: Dead Presidents MC Series #6
Author: Harley Stone
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: August 19, 2019
Working two jobs while juggling family and club obligations keeps Antonio "Spade" Fernandez's schedule full and his bed empty. When a hostage situation flings the perfect woman into his arms—and then into his bed—he'll have one night to fulfill her every fantasy.
After a lifetime of caution, Jessica Munroe is ready to take a risk. Looking down the barrel of a gun wasn't what she had in mind, but it does motivate her to hook up with her sexy rescuer.
One wild night of passion is all either can spare, but will it be enough?

Breaking Spade picks up where Trapping Wasp, book #3, left off. In Trapping Wasp and deranged man was after Carly Jen’s roommate. Jen knows Carly is hiding something from her past but has no idea what it is. She soon finds out when she decides to leave her office early for lunch and goes back to the apartment looking for Carly. Insert deranged man breaking into said apartment.

Spade is closest to the apartment complex where Carly and Jen live, so he is one of the brothers who comes to her rescue. He sees something in her eyes as she’s escaping the life and death situation, something that he wants to explore.

Love this series, love this author, and Breaking Spade is a wonderful addition to this amazing group of men. 5 STARS

*************************************
I have to agree with the other reviewers that this good read is about guys the world could use. The club is a group of ex-military men who are loyal and brothers to each member and work to make not only themselves and their family better but the community as well.

Spade and Jessica meet when there is a break-in at the apartment she shares. Spade is there to help her. This is the last straw. She's been looked over--again--at work. Life is too short and right now just too much. She needs something to change. Enter big bad biker Spade. Only he isn't bad and he is hot. So maybe she's due for a one night stand.

He's too busy for a relationship but he can't resist this woman. One night? Not enough. Between the hot guy, work disappointment, and the nightmare situation having a man like Spade -- just maybe. Is there a possibility for more than a night?

It's not gonna be that easy but the reader gets taken along for the ride and what a ride it is. Another winner from the author who never disappoints.
“I’ve heard about the Dead Presidents on the news and from Carly. She says you guys are a club, a brotherhood, and not a gang, and that you’ve always treated her right. But I never would have thought bikers who looked so rough and tough would be so… kind. I’m embarrassed to admit my surprise.”
“You stereotyped us?” I asked, pretending to be shocked. Most people couldn’t see past our beards, tats, cuts, and bikes to get to know us. Some treated us like we were the scum of the earth, unable to hold down a job. Because I was Mexican, I also fought assumptions that I was here illegally and should be deported. Nobody cared about the shit my parents had to go through to prove they weren’t terrorists and earn their citizenship to start a business and a family without worrying about getting robbed and shot up by one cartel or another.
Her expression fell. “I did. I’m so sorry, but I did.”
“Don’t even worry about it. You’re an attractive, intelligent, single woman. You are single, right?”
To my satisfaction and relief, she nodded in confirmation.
“As fucked up as the world is, you should be gun shy around any man. But most people in life will surprise you if you give them the chance. Sometimes it’s even for the better.”
She gave me a rueful smile. “Touché”
Harley Stone writes mafia romance and funny-as-shit romantic fiction. When she's not writing, she's busy living out her real adventure in southwest Washington with her husband and their five boys.

Hulk by MLJ Quigg with reviews

Title: Hulk
Series: Thorny Devils MC #2
Author: MLJ Quigg
Genre: Contemporary MC Romance
Release Date: August 16, 2019
“As soon as I saw you, it was like a light shining down from the heavens. As I got to know you, I realized that light went soul deep, and I fell for you so hard.” Hulk After an accident and my girlfriend leaving, I didn’t think I’d find anyone to share my life with. Sure, I had my brother and the club, and I never thought I wanted anything more. That was until Claire walked into my life. She had a harrowing story behind her, and it forced my protective instincts forward, and they raged at full force. I simply had to get past the walls she’d built so tightly around her. Claire Some say amnesia is a new start, which is true. But what happens when you wake up one day and everything’s a blank. Let me tell you, it’s not fun but more like downright scary. That was my life now. Sure, I’d made a family and new memories with Monique and the triplets, but when Monique reunited with Derrick, he came with a whole new family. Hulk was the Sergeant at Arms for the club and the man who would steal my heart. Unbeknownst to me, the man who had hurt me previously was closing in, and he wanted to finish what he’d started. Will Hulk be able to save Claire from a madman, or will he be too late to have his angel with him forever?
Hulk and Claire

She's shy. A beautiful dancer. Has no memory from before she was found beaten almost to death several years earlier. The Prez's woman had befriended and hired her as a nanny to her children. When Hulk saw her he was a goner.

He'd not been attracted to a woman since his severe accident when his girlfriend had deserted him. Yet this woman made him respond again. They took it slow. She wasn't ready for a lot, yet he made her feel safe and warm in a way she hadn't in her memory. She didn't remember her attack or attacker but she did have nightmares about black eyes above her.

I enjoyed the story and the MC club is a good one. Not too bad but don't threaten their own. You won't like the result. There is a silent bad guy (he/she). A silent good guy(?) or is he/she. The entire club and the security team, a bunch of ex-military men, who work for Monique, all come together to include protecting Claire. I love how good Hulk, the big guy who matches his club name, treats her and comes back himself.

While I enjoyed knowing the back story I would have preferred a better transition to tell us about the club brothers. I thoroughly enjoyed book one and two and am anxious to read the next.  ================================================================ This was such a interesting story. I loved how we got to see the other side to what happened in Thor.

I loved Hulk and Claire, you could tell Hulk just wanted to help and support her.

There was some shockers in this story, but it was so worth it.

I can't wait for more.

MLJ lives in NSW, Australia, with her husband, three adult children, and six cats—yes, you heard that right, six.
Growing up in a huge family of eight kids was always noisy and didn’t give her enough alone time to unwind.
Books have always given her an outlet from the craziness that is her life. Nothing is better than curling up with a good story to take her mind off her surroundings.
As a new author, she hopes you enjoy her stories and that they help you get out of your world and into hers for a few hours.
