Title: Ugly Truths
Series:  A Grimville Reapers Novel
Author: Jen Stevens
Genre: Dark Contemporary/MC Romance
Release Date: February 25, 2021
Cover Design: Cat at TRC Designs

The first night our eyes met, my world was flipped upside down. I was ripped apart and thrown away, left to pick up the scattered pieces and rebuild what I could. To forget it ever happened.

That seemed like an impossible task with Levi hanging around my bakery each night, a constant reminder of what his friend had done to me. He should have been forbidden—a Grimville Reaper tied directly to the single moment that destroyed me, sent to ensure I never spoke a word about it.

Instead, he threw his own life on the line to protect me. He knew all my secrets, especially the ones I wished to forget. Yet, I knew nothing about him. And despite every ounce of my being warning me against it, I found myself trusting this mysterious man—believing in him.

I didn't expect to fall for him. To find refuge in his storm. But with a heartbreaking past and secrets of his own, could our love still triumph when his ugly truths came into the light?

WARNING: This book is intended for a mature audience only! It contains potential triggers including—but not limited to—sexual assault, mature language, organized criminal behavior, erotic scenes, etc.

Nova suffers one of the most devastating attacks a woman can and survives, but not alone. She finds strength and healing from the most unlikely people.

Levi didn’t have a great start in life. His mom hated him just for existing. He never felt he had many options in life, so he took the only one he felt he had, the Grimville Reapers.

Emotional, raw, intense and a really good read. I thought it was an MC book, but I may have been wrong, but the Grimville Reapers are on the wrong side of the law and it is spread throughout this story. It’s a good debut novel and I look forward to reading more from this author.  4 Stars

Jen Stevens was born and raised in Michigan, where she enjoys the weather of all four seasons in a single day. After obtaining her Bachelor's degree, she quickly realized the corporate world wasn't for her and instead took on the daunting role as her daughter's snack maid. Reading has been an obsession for a long as she could remember, while writing has always been an escape. Jen could quote The Office word-for-word and proudly refers to herself as a romance junkie. She could live off anything made of sugar and has recently obtained the title of Lady. Most of all, she loves connecting with readers!
