π An Interview with Author Scarlet Wolfe π
1.Does writing energize or exhaust you?
When I get on a writing roll, it’s energizing, but if I’m struggling with the story, then the stress and over-analyzing will tire me out, and that’s when I usually take a step back and do something different.
If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
If I could tell my younger writing self anything, it would be to make sure my editing is impeccable and not to rush to release a book, especially if my gut is telling me it’s not ready.
What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?
I do research for my books as I write unless it’s something I need to know beforehand that could greatly affect the plot, and I research the amount of time it takes for me to feel that the content I write is consistent to real life situations.
What’s the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
I feel the most difficult aspect to writing characters from the opposite sex is ensuring their behavior, mannerism and dialogue are consistent with those in real life. For example, males tend to express their feelings verbally less often than women do, so it’s important to only have them do that at times when it’s believable, such as serious or emotional moments in the story when it’s understood that they’d be vulnerable enough to share those feelings, even with themselves. Of course, there are always exceptions.
How many hours a day do you write?
It really varies. The first couple of years of my writing career, I was putting in twelve to sixteen hours day most every day, and it began to take a toll on many aspects of my life, so I typically only put in those hours when I have a tight deadline, like right before a release.
How do you select the names of your characters?
If there is not already a name I like for a character that’s repeatedly popping up in my mind, then I look up names for the year that character was born. I try to keep most names relevant to the time period, but there are exceptions based on the personality of the character or a popular name that I think readers would like.
What is your favorite childhood book?
I don’t remember a specific title, but Curious George books were my favorite when I was a small child, and Judy Blume when I was a little older. In high school, I wasn’t a big reader. I was acting in school plays, cheerleading, dancing and chasing boys. Ha ha!
What is the most difficult part of your artistic process?
Self-doubt is the most difficult part of my artistic process.
How long on average does it take you to write a book?
I used to write a book in about six to eight weeks, but personal obligations slowed me down over the last couple of years. This year, I haven’t released a Scarlet Wolfe book since I’ve been focusing on my new pen name, Ruby Rowe, but I look forward to writing more under Scarlet.

✨ The Scars Keeper by Scarlet Wolfe ✨
Avery
My scars are mine alone. They’re the validation of my pain.
The anxiety, anger and sadness I bleed.
My dark secret. A grim, ugly truth.
Most of all, they’re the one thing in my life I control.
It’s inevitable that one day I’ll have to reveal them to someone. What I wasn’t expecting was to share them now with him … with Hayden.
Hayden
Girls like Avery are all the same. They’re spoiled, superficial blondes who don’t appreciate mommy and daddy’s wealth.
Plastic shells that are empty on the inside.
Or so I thought … but I was wrong.
Avery’s heart is an abyss of emotions. She feels like no one I’ve ever met, wallowing in her insecurities and anguish yet savoring every exciting moment within her reach. I was blindsided by the immense love she was willing to give once she trusted me, and I was left with no choice but to trust her, too, exposing my own pain and scars.
I hate myself for caving in … for loving her. How do you let go of the one person you let in? How do you say goodbye to the girl who trusted you with her body and soul? I have to leave Avery, and where I’m going, I can’t take her with me. She’s going to believe I built her up only to tear her down, but what she doesn’t realize is unlike her, I can’t change my destiny. I was born into the Knights Union MC, and it’s where I’ll go to die.

✨✨ Trust Game by Scarlet Wolfe ✨✨
Reese Abbott thought her step up to an accounting manager would be with a more prestigious company than Casteel Motorsports, especially when she steps foot inside the building. Finding it spattered in grease and overrun by male employees, she wonders what she has gotten herself into.
Everett Casteel is the man in charge. His three brothers help run the operation, making it more of a family affair and a place for ribbing and pranks. When Reese is hired without Everett’s knowledge, he’s furious. Having lost his wife in an auto accident, two years prior, he doesn’t want any woman filling the job his wife once held.
Unexpectedly, he’s drawn to Reese and can’t help but want her physically. Although she has gone without sex for several months, she has no intentions of having a fling with her new boss. When bad boy, Everett, makes a pass at her, it sends Reese running out the door in her heels. Her younger sister, Becca, convinces her that an exciting affair with her boss is exactly what she needs before she likely settles down with a boring man.
Unable to resist Everett, she agrees to his sexual games as long as he agrees to her conditions. Both wanting to have the upper hand, they challenge each other sexually, experimenting in ways they have only imagined. Neither bargain for what the other brings to the table, and when both think they’ve found exactly what they’re looking for, Reese makes a discovery about Everett’s deceased wife. The shocking revelation leaves him questioning the value of trust; the very thing he convinced Reese she had found in him.
This novel is an explosively hot read with explicit sexual scenes and harsh language.

Scarlet Wolfe began writing in January of 2013 as a way to distract and heal from some of the grief she was dealing with after the death of her teenage son.
She instantly fell in love with bringing characters to life. Releasing contemporary romance throughout 2013, she has branched out this year, releasing erotica and teen.
When not writing, Scarlet enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves coffee, chocolate, wine, stories about possessive, hot alpha males, and other flavors of ice cream besides vanilla. ;)
She hopes her writing will encourage readers to feel more comfortable exploring their sexuality.
