Really liked this book, starting the series. The characters are fun. While they are for the most part single, they are not college age or barely out of college. A nice change from too many books out there.
Desiree, kindergarten teacher, came to her childhood summer home at a desperate email from her mother. While she worked up the stamina to face her estranged parent, she watched three hot men racing about the bay on jet skis. One in particular who seemed just as interested in her sped forward to stop nearby drenching her in the process. The inauspicious meeting was the start of a very interesting and heated summer. (having nothing to do with the weather)
Rick couldn't take his eyes off of the woman. Instead of the usual guy who could get women to not only look at him but had no problem with pick up lines and pick-ups when interested, this woman made him fumble badly. In this case, just enough to capture her attention--eventually. He was working on a project with his brother and friend before returning to his successful business that no longer gave him the satisfaction it once had.
Not only did her mother send for her, but for her step sister who was just as absent from Desiree's life as her mother. The two women are anything but stable responsible people that Desiree has become. The two are a little on the kookie side and good for her. Her staid life is about to become unwound. The women, their summer "jobs", and the man who made such an impression are about to introduce her into a new world. She is about to have her conceptions about her family spun in a dizzy circle and gain some new friends.
Is this only going to be a summer romance? Can she go back to her old life after all the changes she makes? Will her family relationships go back to their former status?
This is a fun romance with plenty of steam. The characters introduced should make for a great series I can't wait to read.
