Salvation By Noelle Adams

Title:Salvation
Author: Noelle Adams
Genre: Romance
Series: Stand alone
Buy Links: Amazon Goodreads
Rating: ★★★★★

Synopsis:

You get to the point where you can just say it. There was never anything special about me, except my father is rich and important. That's why it happened.

It was just a normal Tuesday afternoon. I was twenty-three and thinking about my new designer boots. They kidnapped me for ransom. They raped me before I was rescued. My therapist says that talking about it means I'm starting to heal.

I don't really think I am.

It's even harder to talk about Gideon. He couldn’t save me when it really mattered, so he keeps trying to save me now. He refuses to give up on me, and I can’t make him understand. There are some things you just can’t be saved from.

Salvation is a love story that follows a difficult path of healing after sexual assault. It is a true romance, but it addresses very hard issues, including rape and attempted suicide. The novel is not, however, about captivity and violence. It is about love, healing, and hope.

Sas' Thoughts:

"Why won't you just leave me alone?...I can't leave you alone, Diana. I failed you once, and I'm not going to fail you again"
Gideon's guilt at not being able to prevent Diana from getting raped tore at my heart immensely.  An I loved that no matter how hard Diana pushed him away he pushed back just as hard. Everyone needs a little tough love in there life, everyone needs a push in the right direction. and God knows everyone's fight to survival is different for each individual.

Both Gideon and Diana has a battle of their own to concur. and they both need each other to win that battle.

Well talk about hitting a nerve!.. Noelle Adams hit a home run with this book. Although I haven't been in Diana's particular situation, I could definitely relate to her on some level.

But done take my word for it.. this is a book everyone, from all walks of life must read.

Thank you Noelle Adams!!

Donna's Thoughts:

Diana is the twenty three year old daughter of a wealthy man. She enjoys her privileged life until the day her father’s dealings gets her kidnapped by the Albanian organized crime gang. While she is their captive, she is raped, mere hours before her rescue. Diana used to believe in the hero who would ride in at just the right moment and save the damsel in distress. Unfortunately her hero was overpowered and he lives with that guilt on a daily basis.
“I’ll decide what I want and need, and right now what I want and need is you.”
This story is so well written that I felt the guilt that runs through the male character. I felt his pain and anger for not being able to save Diana from being assaulted. The description of what Diana went through was powerful. I have never been in that situation, so I wouldn’t even suggest I could feel it, but it was written in such a way that I was brought into her emotions, her sense of despair. The attempt at recovery is hard, it’s not fluffed in this book, there’s no instant cure for Diana and I respect that from the author. I want to say so much more, but I feel anything else would be a spoiler. I look forward to reading other books written by Ms. Adams and I would recommend giving this book a read. I give it 4.5 stars.

“The world isn’t the one I used to think it was, where the hero rides in to save the day at the very last minute. It’s so much harder and deeper and uglier and more beautiful than that.”

About the Author:

Noelle handwrote her first romance novel in a spiral-bound notebook when she was twelve, and she hasn't stopped writing since. She has lived in eight different states and currently resides in Virginia, where she teaches English, reads any book she can get her hands on, and offers tribute to a very spoiled cocker spaniel.

She loves travel, art, history, and ice cream. After spending far too many years of her life in graduate school, she has decided to reorient her priorities and focus on writing contemporary romances.
