COVER REVEAL: All Good Things (the good life #.05) by Jodie Beau

All Good Things

 BLURB:

This is going to be the best summer ever! Bonfires, pool parties, trips to the beach, throwing her arms in the air while riding down the open road in a convertible – she’s going to do it all. Roxie has plans. It’s the last summer before college graduation. By this time next year she’ll be living in the “real” world; ie: paying bills, searching for a job that doesn’t require an apron, and maybe even sleeping on a bed that doesn’t turn into a couch. If there’s ever a time to be fun, irresponsible and reckless, it’s now. But things don’t always go as planned. Before the summer has even started, Roxie makes a discovery that breaks her heart and shatters her confidence. Her hopes of having the Best Summer Ever go straight in the trash. Forget the beach. Forget the bonfires. Forget summer altogether. If only her childhood friend, Jake, would let her be. His contagious smile keeps popping up and dragging her to every social event in Ann Arbor. Reluctant at first, his happy-go-lucky attitude becomes an addiction. It isn’t long before Roxie starts to wonder if her longtime friend might be the perfect cure for her heartbreak. This summer might be good after all. But All Good Things… must come to an end.

**All Good Things is an NA prequel to the contemporary 2013 release The Good Life. The books can be read in either order, or as stand-alones.**

It was always her choice By Susanne Lovely

It Was Always Her Choice ★★★☆

As little girls we've all had a crush on someone much older than we were or someone we probably shouldn't. I had quite a few when I was younger lol. As we all know is normal. Which is what I thought when I first started reading this book.  This story started off on Shania's 14th birthday, just to fast forward to her upcoming 21st birthday.  Where she tells David how she feels about him and her only wish for her birthday.  He says no at first listing all the reasons he can't comply. But  from on paragraph to the next he changes his mind.
Things don't go the way she expects and she runs away. Only to have her life threatened.

For me a lot of the events in this book felt rushed and a little to predictable. There was also certain parts of the story I felt as if I've read before in another book.
While I understood the direction Susanne intended to take this book unfortunately for me it didn't reach there.
Nonetheless this is a romantic love story proving that true love can concur anything. Simply because I'm a hopeless romantic I give this story 3 1/2.

Finding Willow By Dawn Robertson

Finding Willow ★★★★★

We briefly met Starburst Bloom aka Star in the first book. We learn that she has a child with her best friends brother that was taken away from her when she was only 16. Now 11 yrs later she set out on a journey to find her daughter. But that also means she has to return the the one place she hates most and face her demons. But what frightens her most is the thought that her daughter might not even want to know her.

This one brought me to tears.

I have to admit in the first book nothing about star was interesting to me. I thought she was a horrible friend just hanging on simply cuz she had no one else. But after reading her story I can honestly say I was wrong. I sympathized with Star on her struggle as a child, an I praised her when she finally decided to make her life her own.
True to form the smut in this book had me hot an bothered. Or perhaps that was the hot biker.. you'd have to read to find out!

It's official... Dawn Robertson is officially added to my favorite author list.

Hers by Dawn Robertson

Hers ★★★★★

On the surface Seven James is a fighter a leader An a dominant. In both the boardroom an the bedroom. After breaking up with her ex Daniel part cheating on her and breaking her heart, she sent out for revenge. Celebrating the start of her success she heads to sinners and swingers where she meets Levi Parker. But little does she know he would be the one man who would solely break down her walls and change her life forever.

Holy mother of god.. This book is exactly what the the doctor ordered! Seven was definitely a breath of fresh air. Countless books we read about the damsel in distress in search of her prince charming. Well not in this book! Like all woman.. strong willed or the weak.. she has her insecurities the does get the best of her at times. But that was when Levi was at his best! He was so sweet and charming and a submissive like youve never read about before. The sex scenes was hot like fire except instead of tryna put it out i was begging for more.

There was one small in discrepancy that was probably just over looked.. Im sure most people didnt notice it either and it did not take away from the story either. So you get a pass on that one Ms. Robertson.

Now im headed back to sinners and swingers in search for my own Levi Parker. Hell after reading this book id be willing to submit to Seven James.

Touching Scars By Stacy Borel

Touching scars ★★★☆

Katherin peirce was the nerdy girl in high school everyone loved to pick on. That is til the  verbal abuse went over board an turned Physical abuse. Vowing shed never let anything like that happen again, she packed up an moved to Texas where shes thought shed never be found. And so it was til her 21st birthday. With her uncle in walked one guy shed never in a million years thought shed ever see again. Was he sent to finish the job??

Timber fresh out of the army and suffering from ptsd simply needed a fresh start. He moved far away from home hoping to escape his demons. He was doing fine til his boss invited him to his bar a few blocks down to celebrate his nieces birthday. But he couldnt believe his eyes when he saw his bosses niece turned out to be the he crushed on in H.S. But she acted like she didnt know him.. why?? He didnt know but he surely intended to find out.

I loved that Kat had spunk. Dispite what she went through back in H.S she unlike alot of characters ive read about never let that define who she was. Back in the days she was the girl everyone made fun off now she was the woman at the bar every guys in town wanted a piece of.
We always read about the bully that turned into a misunderstood prince. But not in this book. But Timber was the bully's friend who just sat back and watched it all happen til one day he decided he wasnt gonna just watch it any more. He was sexy and all types of alpha male. When he spit his orders it made me want to comply lol.

Unfortunately, this book was just ok for me. The story line was good but very predictable. I give Touching scars 3 1/2 stars

Goodbye Girl by Scarlett Metal

Goodbye Girl ★★★☆

Rachel met Clint in a diner one night while she was on the road trying to escape her past. From the moment they lay their eyes on each other, sparks fly. He offers her a job on his ranch and even though she's a city girl, she accepts.

It's not long before they give into their attraction and settle into life together on the ranch. They find happiness in each other's arms and Clint quickly wonders if Rachel is the girl that can give him his happily ever after.

Rachel's past eventually comes back to haunt her, and threatens her happiness with Clint. Can they work through their demons of the past and find their happily ever after? Or will Rachel leave Clint just like she fled her life before?

This was your typical damsel in distress running from the past right into the arms of Prince charming. Who of course had his own issues. I was never a big fan of Cowboys and ranches an horses but Clint was all kinds of hot, and he made the sex scene that much hotter! Think I just found my first cowboy book boyfriend lol!!

The story line was good but it was very predictable. Which is why i could only give goodbye Girl 3 1/2 stars.
