Back to Life by Danielle Allen

Back to life  ★★★★

Sahara Lee has been through so much in the first 19 years of her life that she just can’t take it so she packs herself up and runs away to start a new life where no one knows her. She has graduated college and becomes very successful in her Human Recourses career. Not what she always dreamed of doing, but why should she be allowed to live out her dreams when she has ruined the dreams of so many others? Ten years later and she have absolutely no emotional connections to anyone in her life. She suppresses all of her feelings and keeps completely to herself accept while working.

At first I was like ‘another book where the main character blames herself for every bad thing that has happened in her life’ but the more I got into the story I realized that there is SO MUCH more to it. We all have emotional problems in our lives and each of us deals with them differently. This story is about how Sahara dealt with hers. Not necessarily the best way but in her eyes it’s her only option. This was a wonderful story of relationships and coping with tragedy. I highly recommend this book but I will warn you, MAJOR CLIFFHANGER. The good news, Back to Reality, sequel is out! I give this book 4 stars and look forward to more books by this author.

Remy by Katy Evans

REMY ★★★★

After reading the phenomenal Love story of Remy and Brooke we finally get a glimpse of what was going through Remy's mind.

"Shes so beautiful and im so broken"

" No crying, I want to make you happy. Not just happy. I want to make you the happiest woman alive"

"Your mine, My obsession, My dreams, My hope, My heart"

And god his words still bring me to my knees!!

So it pains me to admit this.. but ive never been a big fan of POV's. There has to be a way for an author to tell characters point of view with out retelling the entire story. Unfortunately Katy Evans didn't Concor that in Remy. However, all of Remy wasnt solely based on the past stories we read there was alittle of the present.  Which was great but there should have been more.  Which is why I could only give Remy 3.5 stars

I am happy to say, Remy ended the same Remy and Brookes story began... Beautifully!!

Dispite how I feel about this particular book I Still say Remy and Brooke's story is one of the best I've read this year.

Try by Ella Frank

Try ★★★★

I saw alot of people
reading this book and giving such great reviews. But when I read the synopsis I bought the book but put it on a back burner. That is until a friend of mine read it and told me I had to read this one now. So I did dispite my the fact that I really don't read same sex romance novels. But after reading Try ive officially learned to think out side the normal.

Logan Mitchell is your typical man whore expect he plays on both teams and he'd be the first one to tell you just how much he loves it. Logan is also use to getting what ever he wanted. All it took was a little charm. That is until he met Tate. Man that turn his life as he knew it upside down.

Tate Morrison recently out of a horrible marriage is trying to start his life over as a bartender in the local pub. Everything seems to be going well for him on his first day til he meets Logan.  Who makes his need for Tate very clear. Like most guys Tate turns him down informing Logan that he's straight. But Tate quickly learns Logan won't give up. And there's only so many ways one can say no before giving in... so Tate eventually decided to 'TRY'.

Wow this book surely knocked my socks off!  Logan's persistence with waiting Tate was sooo freaking hot I wished he was perusing me!! In the end they both learned to TRY. Try to except who they we're. Try to except they can be so much more, and Try to except that it doesn't matter what other people think as long as your happy. In the society we live in today I sure hope this book inspires others to be who they are!!

Tease by Missy Johnson

Tease ★★★★★

Liam cooper also known as coop is an escort. Has been for the past 8 years In order to take care of his sick mother. For the most part Coop enjoys his job, after all he gets paid to satisfy NY's most desirable women. Whats there not to love?

His family however never thought to question his line of work after all they think he sells insurance.

Things get complicated when when liams sister friend Mia.. whose also an old crush...moves back into town. As things begin to escalate between them Coop's ultimately forced to choose between a chance at real love and his job.... The choice is not as simple as one might think.

As soon as I found out what  Coop's occupation was I knew I was in  for one hell of a steamy story. But nothing and I mean nothing could have possibly prepared me for some of the scenes in this book! The things men will do for money!!

Hold on let me catch my breath before I continue....

Tease was a breathe of fresh air and an absolute must read If your looking for something other than your every day romance novel.

I am so pleased to say Tease doesn't end in a cliffhanger... Lord knows how much I hate cliffhanger. However, there is more to this story. If you read an loved Tease like I did make sure you look for promiscuous early 2014!!

The Truth About Us

The Truth About Us ★★★★★

Sophia running from her past life desperate to start a new one. starting her personality and a new town. She gets a job at the local bartender where she meets Courban. The town player an co ower of the bar. Courban an sophia has an almost instant connection that neither of them can explain. But the two are more connected then they realize.

The truth about us was a beautiful story about two lost souls that help each other find their way out of a dark path and into the light. I admit i was turned off in the beginning when sophia was so sad all the time. But once you learn why shes running you cant feel anthing but remorse. If youve ever lost someone you wasn't ready to let go of this story hits that very same spot. It a raw emotional story  that's so easy to get lost in. I loved it and so will you!!

In A Heartbeat

In A Heartbeat ★★★★

After a tragic event in the early stages of her life we meet Lynae Michaels a registered nurse whose barely living til her co workers convinced her to go out with them to club metro. When the hot new band 'Shameful Regret' comes out on stage and Lynaes eyes are Immediately locked on the most mesmorizing green eyes that immediatly make her knees go weak.

Conner Reeves is the lead singer/ playboy of the Shameful Regret. Hes never seen with a girl more than twice. That is until he meets  Lynae. one look into her eyes completely grounds him. Its then he knows he has to have her.

Both Conner and Lynae are haunted by their own demons that neither of them are willingly  to share with one another. But is keeping that secret worth risking their relationship??

Wow what a story!! 'In a heart beat' grips you tightly from the very first page. Although some parts of the story was easy to predict  an Lynae & Conners wasnt as orginial as id perfer i still couldnt break myself away from this book!

Looking forward to book two Make My Heart Beat coming spring 2014

Beside Your Heart

Beside Your Heart

Nicole (Nicki) Johnson is a 17 year old High School junior at Bellaire High School in Bellaire TX. Her life has changed dramatically the past few months. A car accident left her and her mother on deaths doorstep and her younger sister gone forever. Her parents divorced a few years prior to this and dad moved out of state. Now she faced with the first day of school after the accident and she REALLY doesn’t want to face everyone’s sympathetic stares and questions.

Adam Kincaid moved to the Bellaire TX last spring from England because of his father’s work. Adam is a well-built soccer player with reddish hair and all the girls love his accent. Unfortunately the girl he likes was dating someone else so he started seeing a cheerleader. Junior year begins and Nicki is his locker mate and he couldn’t be happier. He wants to befriend her.

I have to admit I had a hard time starting this book, but before I knew it I couldn’t put it down. This story is full of teenage angst taking me right back to High School. Does he like me? Why is he being nice to me?  Adam is the boy I would have wanted to date in High School. I feel in love with Nicki’s strength and the way she handles the events of her life. At the end however, I understood the reason for her choices but I don’t agree with what she did.

I have to say the ending of the book BLEW ME AWAY! It is NOT what I was expecting at all. I cannot wait to read the second book Disclosure of the Heart. I highly recommend this book to all romance lovers. I give this book 5 stars!

Mine By Katy Evans

mine ★★★★★

Mine picks up two months later where Real left off and we find Remy exactly where his heart lives. In the ring with thousands of women screaming his name and Brook on sidelines watching her man fight for the first time since his of fans watched him fall. All in the name of love

The past get revisited a few times and we learn all transpired during their break up and how those events made him a bit insecure about their relationship. Throughout 'Mine' we see a more vulnerable side to Remy we didnt see in Real and it will tear at your heart!

Their love is tested several times but not by any thing they've done to each other persay.  But simply by lifes challenges.  Which leads to the burning question... will their love prevail??

'Mine' is the epitome of perfection to an already magnificent love story. I laughed, I cried, and I awwed alot!! And the smut is sooooo much hotter the second time around!! If you loved and read 'Real' you have to read the continuation of Remy and Brookes story.

Next in the real series is Remy's POV and oh boy that should be one thrilling hell of a ride and I cant wait!!

I was given an copy of Mine via Net galley in exchange for an honest review

Barely Surviving By Courtney Cross

Barely Surviving ★★★★

We first meet Ava Mathews on her 18th birthday after her step father brutally rapes her. Believing she can no longer survive she attemps suicide. Four years later we find her Emotionally with drawn in London where she later learns her stepfather has died and left her everything. This is where she first meets Jonah Jacobson and their connection was almost instant.

Jonah Jacobson on the out side was hotter than fire an alpha male that could bring you to your knees with a simply touch, a smile, an even just a look. But like Ave Jonah too was barely surviving.

This was an emtionally story that will grip at your heart from the very first page. Ava's story wasnt necessarly a unique one. Most women that's been abused tend to shut them selves off. For me it was when Jonah came into the picture forcing her to open up to him only to be betrayed that Mrs Cross made this story her own. At first Jonah Was a bit too crass and to forward for me. But once I learned his story all that was easy to forget. All in all I loved Jonah an Ava's story. Barely surviving tells the tale of two people drawn together simply by fate.

I cant say I was surprised by the end.. kinda saw that coming. looking forward to book two Divinely Living

Take me home For Christmas By Brenda Novak

Take Me Home For Christmas  ★★★★

Sofia DeBussi has been in love with Ted Dixon all of her life, but when they were young and he left for college she made a mistake. She got pregnant with another man’s child and married him. Skip DeBussi was all about appearances and he was all too happy to have the beautiful Sofia as his trophy wife. She’s miserable in her marriage but is too afraid of what might happen if she were to leave him.

Ted Dixon is an accomplished author doing very well for himself. He loves Sofia to this day but she broke his heart when she cheated and left him for another man. When Sofia finds herself is a bit of trouble, will Ted be able to put aside his resentment to reach out and lend a hand or will he turn his back on her like everyone else?

I just don’t know what to say, this book it NOT at all what I expected. I thought I would be reading your average boy and girl are madly in love, have hot sex, stumble upon a bump in the road and let’s see how the make it through. Take Me Home for Christmas is NOT that at all!! This book was a wonderful read. I grew to care about the characters and feel for them as they navigated their troubles. Sofia’s strength and sense of self is tested throughout this book, but even though she doesn’t think so, she is a strong woman how fights to overcome the situation. Ted is amazing; we should all have a Ted Dixon in our lives. However I do wish the author had let the reader in on the circumstances surrounding Sofia’s betrayal. It is hinted at in the book, but the two never discuss fully why she made the decision to cheat. Another boyfriend that something significant happened with was mentioned but not fully developed.  I am hoping that there will be another book with this cast of characters in it, even the support character were interesting and I want to know more about them as well as wanting to know where life will lead Sofia and Ted. I give this book 4.5 stars.

The Honor series

The honor series

Looking over some of my good reads friends reviews for this series I have to wonder if we was all reading the same book??

Williams crass domineering alpha male persona draws you in. I can give him credit for that.  But once all the scerets are unveiled you realize he really isnt crass or alpha male hes simply a master manipulator!

There was a reference in the book when Emmas watching a scary movie simply to find out how far the killer goes before he gets caught, when William questiones her statment she responded. The killer always gets caught! William then counters that statement with if hes smart with a well thought out plan hell never be caught.

I was really hoping Teresa would make this reference come true. Just laid all william honors cards sprawled out over the table for the entire community (or even just Emma) to see. But she didnt only a glimps of the things hed done came to life. Had she learned all his dirty secrets the story would have ended so differently.

The Honor series wasnt a bad story I just think it should have been a little bit longer.
Overall I give the entire Honor series 3 out of 5 stars.. only because his manipulating skills was on point to the very end.
