I loved this story of life. There are not many stories that have this type of truth about what happens in the world and how others can be there to help you get through it. Ava and Shadow are two very broken people that need each other in ways they never knew possible. The love they share and the hardships they go through together are inspiring. I know there is someone out there for everyone, since we can not all deal with other people's problems, but there is someone out there that can help you through yours. Shadow helps Ava through her ordeal when she cannot go to her family because that would make things worse, or so she thinks. When things go from bad to worse she realizes that Luke "Shadow" Black is right when he says she should go to her family with this. Luke did not realize he had not healed yet, and Ava helps him heal and the love they have and the way they bring two different worlds together is amazing and feels more real than most books I read. I still see some of the fantasy, but there is so much more to it. I cannot wait for book number 2.

new fan! This book was captivating, and despite her use of the well over-used
phrase “more than my next breath”, I absolutely LOVED this book. Lucas is super-hot,
super sexy, good bad boy and Ava is such a strong female character. No matter
what has happened to her, or how low she feels, she fights. She does not always
feel strong, in fact for most of the book she feels and appears weak, but she’s
not. This is book 1 in the spin off series of The Hell’s Knights series and I
CANNOT wait to get my hands on those books! I give this book 5 stars with 4
hands down the pants!

I totally loved this book. Lucas and Ava are both so shattered by events in their lives that they struggle to actually live each day.Each carries so much pain that they feel they don't deserve to be happy. Both are so broken neither of them believe they deserve to be happy. They meet after a violent incident and Lucas finds himself drawn to Ava. Ava's father is head of an MC club whose dealings have now brought Ava to the attention of a very dangerous man. Lucas and Ava find as they spend time with each other that their jagged , broken pieces fit together and only each of them can complete the other again. Both are thrown into an increasingly dangerous situation and worlds which would never normally mix are forced to fight together or everyone loses.This book is so emotionally charged that you can't help but be pulled into the heart wrenching scenarios. The feelings are very raw and affects the reader even more because of this. I can't wait for the next in the series. I would thoroughly recommend this author. I received an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest review and it's the best book I have read in the last few weeks.
