A totally gripping read. Forget reading a few pages at a time, the reading waves keep on crashing. We all know any form of biological warfare if unleashed on largely populated areas would be devastating. The Tide paints a terrifyingly realistic picture of the utter devastation and loss of life a chemical grown by humans can destroy the human race. This book is well written, fast paced and you feel the main character's emotions as the story unfolds. I didn't want it to end. The scientific knowledge of the author shines through. It doesn't take much imagination to see how easily a modernised virus or bug could take everything you have ever known and smash it up. I loved this book and would adore a follow on.
