Synopsis:

Craig Robinson and Suzanne Baxter had no reason to meet, no real excuse to be friends. But when heart calls to heart...blood to blood...should two people who seem destined to be together heed the spin of Fate's wheel?

Craig spent years floating through life on cruise control, using directionless jobs, his rock band, swimming, and a string of older women in his bed to smother feelings of loneliness and loss. He finally thought he had found his true love in one Sara Thornton -- A sexy, beautiful, fellow real estate agent and mentor. But his self-doubt and innate sense of failure is only reinforced when he realizes her heart belongs to another man.

When Sara introduces him to Suzanne, a woman fighting her own demons from an abusive marriage and subsequent feelings of inadequacy and deep unhappiness, that simple, chance moment snaps Craig's hazy existence into crystal-clear focus. A bond of instant physical attraction, nurtured by time and shared experience, and plenty of erotic energy, is born.

As Suzanne's past continues to haunt her, making her push Craig away just as he thinks he’s getting closer, each of them must come to terms with their true selves and face their ultimate realities.

Donna's Thoughts:

Craig Robinson begins this book at the young age of twenty three. Ever since his high school teacher taught him the ways of “love”, he has been attracted to older women, not that he won’t roll around with any woman, but older woman are what he’s most attracted too. In this book, he goes through quite a few. One uses him solely for his body. It takes him some time, but once he meets Sara Thorton, he is able to rid himself of her. Sara however is in love with another man, but that doesn’t stop Craig from persuing her. Once again, Craig is left feeling like a piece of meat. This is a running theme for Craig. At one point in the book he says “I think I might be a sex addict.” Whether or not he is, he definitely needs to get it together; he’s a mess rolling from one bad relationship to another.

Suzanne Baxter has been through her share of rough relationships. Her abusive husband, her much younger lover who helped her through a rough time, and now Craig. She is very attracted to him, but she feels she is too damaged to be with anyone, and after what her husband did to her she doubts she will ever be able to give Craig a family, the one thing she thinks he deserves.

After reading Liz Crowe’s first two Stewart Reality books, I didn’t think any couple could frustrate me anymore then Sara and Jack. I was wrong! Craig and Suzanne are equally frustrating, if not more so. They are another couple who take at the least ten years to get their shit together and I’m sorry there is NO WAY I would have stuck around no matter how much I “loved” the person. Commit or get of the pot already. In the end, things work out as they should, Liz has a way of making me crazy with the level of angst in her books, but by the end loving that I endured it all. Other than the frustration of the long drawn out angst filled drama, I didn’t love having to relieve the emotional event from Essence of Time, it killed me then, it killed me now. Anyway I am anxious to see this series through to the end. I give this book 4 stars with 4.5 hands down the pants. (Liz is VERY good and steamy love scenes!) On to the next one!!

About the Author:

Best-selling author, beer blogger and beer marketing expert, mom of three, and soccer fan, Liz lives in the great Midwest, in a major college town. She has decades of experience in sales and fund raising, plus an eight-year stint as a three-continent, ex-pat trailing spouse. While working as a successful Realtor, Liz made the leap into writing novels about the same time she agreed to take on marketing and sales for the Wolverine State Brewing Company.

Most days find her sweating inventory and sales figures for the brewery, unless she's writing, editing or sweating promotional efforts for her latest publications.

Her early forays into the publishing world led to a groundbreaking fiction subgenre, "Romance for Real Life," which has gained thousands of fans and followers interested less in the "HEA" and more in the "WHA" ("What Happens After?"). More recently she is garnering even more fans across genres with her latest novels, which are more character-driven fiction, while remaining very much "real life."

With stories set in the not-so-common worlds of breweries, on the soccer pitch, in successful real estate offices and many times in exotic locales like Istanbul, Turkey, her books are unique and told with a fresh voice. The Liz Crowe backlist has something for any reader seeking complex storylines with humor and complete casts of characters that will delight, frustrate, and linger in the imagination long after the book is finished.

If you are in the Ann Arbor area, be sure and stop into the Wolverine State Brewing Co. Tap Room--but don't ask her for anything "like" a Bud Light, or risk serious injury.
