Good Girls Don’t Date Rock Stars by Codi Gary

Title: Good girls Don't Date Rock Stars

Author: Codi Gary
Series: Rock Canyon Romance #2
Genre: Romance
Rating: ★★★★.☆

Synopsis:

Gemma Carlson didn't plan on waking up married.

She also didn't count on running into her old flame—and her son's father-turned-country rock star—Travis Bowers, followed by a night of drunken dares. Apparently one of those involved a ring on her finger and a vow … neither of which she intends to keep. Now with a hangover from hell, this good-girl-gone-bad knows there's just one thing to do: run.

Travis has been all over the world, but Gemma has never been far from his thoughts. So when they had the chance to catch up over a few drinks, he didn't hesitate. Of course, he didn't expect it would lead to marriage, or a runaway bride! Travis finally has a second chance and doesn't plan on losing Gemma again—or the son he didn't know he had. He proposes, albeit belatedly, a date. Or rather, a few. If they can make this marriage work by starting over, he stays. If not …

Gemma's not interested; she's got a son to protect and a heart to heal. But having Travis around could make both a little easier. Still, good girls don't date rock stars . . . right?

Donna's Thoughts:

Teenagers Travis Bower and Gemma Carlson are in love! Travis is an aspiring musician and Gemma has helped him launch his career. He knows that they can make their relationship work even while he is on tour. “He’d told her it didn’t matter how far away he was, his heart was with her, and it seemed like she’d believed him.” Only problem was, she was pregnant and when she met him on tour to tell him things didn’t go so well. Ten years later they bump into each other in Las Vegas.

I enjoyed this book even though Travis is a country singer and not what I would call a “rock star”, but he’s sexy so I’ll get over that. The drama that ensues is realistic enough to be believable and the chemistry between these two is steamy. There are emotional parts, funny parts and sexy parts in this book; it has a little bit of everything! This is the second book in this series by Cody Grey and I would definitely read more. I give this book 4.5 stars and 3 hands down the pants.

About the Author:

From the time she could put a Disney Book cassette into her little stereo, and read along, books have held a fantastic distraction. When she was eleven, she decided she wanted to be one of those magical people that brought stories to life. Devouring a book a day sometimes, her first romance novel stuck with me. She'd always been a sucker for a happy ending (and the great romantic gesture)and that's what she try to put into her stories. she is so honored to be a part of Avon, and is so excited to have her own dreams coming true.
