Marigny Street by Annie Rose Welch

Marigny Street  ★★★★

Eva (Evangeline) dreams, she has dreamt her whole life and she hasn’t always liked it. M re (grandma) tells her not to be afraid, her dreams are special and the good ones can come true. Eva doesn’t like it when her dead aunt visits her dreams, but when she meets a young boy “her angel” who saves her, her dreams suddenly aren’t so bad. She and her “angel” are meant to be together if only they could find each other.

This book was very interesting but I had a hard time getting in to  it at first because I wasn’t sure what was going on. Boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love everything is perfect. Pretty straight forward and much like other love stories I’ve read, but something just didn’t seem right to me and I couldn’t put my finger on it.  These two characters are good together and their love story is amazing, emotional and beautiful but something kept bothering me. Finally at the end it all fell into place and I am so glad I read it. I cannot wait to read Red Dirt Road, I’m hoping it picks up where Marigny Street left off. Oh and there is a bonus, at the end of Marigny Street there is more of Eva’s story with the prequel Brighten Place.

I give Marigny Street 4 stars.

Christian Grey has a new face!!!

Im sure by now most of you have heard the news about Jamie Dornan possibly landing the lead role for Christian grey!(still waiting for E L James to confirm or deny) After taking over the big news with some of my fifty shades fan friends I got a lot of mixed reactions to the news, with good reason. Most of us was finally getting use to the idea of Charlie Hunnam as CG. But for reasons thats still unclear (due to a whole lot of speculation) Charlie quit leaving the role open once again for other potential actors. This sent fsog fans every where hitting the polls trying to get there fan favorites to land the role (which i knew was never going to happen). But the Director and casting crew for FSOG had other plans. according to my number one source for all things Fifty Shades +FiftyShadesFilm Grey the casting crew was also leaning towards 5 other actors.. Francois Arnaud, Alexander Skarsgard, Theo James Scott Eastwood and Billy Magnussen But it seems Jaime had the best Chemistry during a test read a few days ago.

While Charlie wasn't my idea CG I was happy with the choice. But now I don't know how to feel this news. Jamie isn't even remotely close to how I pictured Christian. He just doesn't give off that alpha male vibe needed to portray CG. But I am going to try to keep an open mind simply because I fell in love with the CG I read in the book.. what some one else says he looks like whether I agree with it or not is not going to detour me from that.  If you are a lover of the books as I am you should do the same.

The Breathe Series

This series is the epitome of emotional roller coaster. Like the characters on these books my emotions were all over the place.

In the first book Reason To Breathe we meet the 16 yr old beauty Emily Thomas better known as Emma. After her father passed away she was sent to live with her uncle George and his wife Carol. George an Carol has two little kids of there own who absolutely loves Emma. Carol on the hand had the exact opposite feelings towards Emma an set out to make her life a living hell.
Emma sought refuge at school where she spent most of her day with her best friend Sarah. Sarah knew a little about what was going on in Emma's house but because Emma believed she was protecting Sarah in some way she never truly shared all the details of her home life. But Sarah wasn't an idiot, she vowed to protect Emma no matter what the cost.

Emma's life changed the day she met Evan Mathews a transfer student originally from California  All the girls in the school was throwing themselves at him but he only had eyes for Emma.  But Emma didn't feel the same way for Evan at first. Evan and Emma spent all of there free time together as just friends and like Sarah Evan silently vowed to protect her with his life if he had to.

But is that enough?? When pushed to the point of no return can love conquer all??

In Barely Breathing things for Emma start off good Til shes forced to revisit her past forcing herself to find the answers to the questions shes wanted all her life. But she quickly learns whats in the past should stay in the past. She finds herself repeating the same habits in order to protect the ones she cared for. and things only go from bad to worse very quickly. Instead of letting the people that loved her the most in Emma pushes them all away. walking away from it all never looking back.

in Out of Breath Emma goes off to college leaving behind everyone she loved forcing herself to start over. And she did for the most part. But all she was running from eventually catches up with her, forcing her to face all shes done. She tries her best to make amends for all shes done. But in order to do that she has to do the one thing she hasn't been able to do with anyone.. Trust

This was a heart wrenching story about the trials and tribulations of love, and whether or not love can prevail . Parts of this story was hard to swallow. But I laughed, I cried, I screamed at my kindle several times  through out this series because she was so damn stubborn. And although i didn't agree with any of Emma's bad decision it was all worth it in the end. This series is highly recommended for anyone in search of a true love story.

I give the Breath series over all 5 Big heart wrenching stars!!

Carter Reed by Tijan

Carter Reed  ★★★★★

What would you do for the person you love? Would you sell your soul for them? Would you kill for them? Most people say they would but when it comes down to the moment could you really do it? Emma is about to find out.   AJ, Emma and Carter grew up together in poverty. AJ and Carter are best friends, always looking out for each other and AJ’s little sister Emma. They were like family; Carter always knew when things were bad at home he could turn to AJ and Emma. They became closer when AJ was left taking care of Emma after their parents died. They were close until the day AJ was killed by the mob. Both of their lives change in that moment and neither will be the same.   Carter Reed has left me speechless. I think I love him! This is not your typical story, the first chapter consists of rape and murder and from there it turns into lies, deceit, hiding and lots and lots of blood. Can Emma survive the decision she has made? Will Carter be able to protect her? Will he even remember her; it’s been years since she’s seen him. What secrets will come out once they are reunited? What will become of the life Emma has built for herself and what will become of Carter Reed? I haven’t been this excited about a book in a long time. I couldn’t NOT put it down and finished it in less than 24 hours. Carter Reed is my new Bad Boy Book Boyfriend; you wouldn’t want to miss this story. I give it 5+++++ Stars!!!

Eighth Note By Kimberly Stedronsky

Eighth Note ★★★★★

Kimberly had done it again, she has stolen my heart. I have told her and I say it all the time, I am NOT a fan the paranormal genre but I stumbled upon Roam (another wonderful book by this author) a few months ago and fell in love!

Eighth Note picks up 18 months after the end of Reign (the last book in the Roam series). Eva Reed is living in North Carolina with her husband Will and their daughter Perry. She board and restless. Since she loves music so much Eva has created a wildly popular music blog named Fire Ballad but even that is not enough. She longs to use her magic; she even misses being Queen in Icepond. Than one day Cole Mathison shows up needing her help. A singer Eva recently interviewed has died and Cole believes there is a paranormal explanation. Little did they know what was in store for them! Eva’s relationship with Will will be tested as well as her sanity and her strength. Oh and I can’t forget the sex, hot!!!

I HIGHLY recommend this book, but you should really read the Roam series first so that you know all the players and the background story! (Roam, Fall, Rise, Rule, Rush, West and Reign). Kimberly is a fantastic writer and I look forward to the next book in this series. But please don’t let my secret out, I’m really not a paranormal fan!
